What is permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup is commonly referred to as a “cosmetic tattoo”, but it’s not a traditional tattoo at all, nor is it really “permanent”. Tiny amounts of natural pigments are inserted into the dermal layer of the skin, not the epidermis (where a regular tattoo goes). Because of that, results will last a long time, but will eventually fade in approximately 1-3 years. This is perfect since faces and trends change!

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic technique used for creating and filling in eyebrows. A handheld microblade pen applies pigment in individual strokes creating extremely lifelike, fine lines of color that resemble hair.

Is permanent makeup safe?

Absolutely. Our studio is approved by county health department, and we follow the strictest sanitation and safety standards, using only single-use, sterilized needles and parts. Our custom-blended pigments are hypo-allergenic, non-toxic and contain no fragrances, emollients or other irritants.

How long does the procedure take?

Time will vary with each individual, the area being covered and whether it’s your first time or you’re coming in for a touch-up. It takes our experienced technicians an average of one hour for each procedure. The total time to expect at our studio for your first session (including consultation, color selection, and application) is about two hours.

What’s the recovery time?

There’s no downtime; you can go back to work right after your eyebrow, eyeliner or lip procedure. It’s normal to have some swelling on the lip and eye, and/or some minor scabbing on eyebrows. Your custom color will initially look 20-30% bolder than what the final result will be after about a week when it settles in. It will take about six days for the skin to completely heal. Our clients generally say they walk out ready to take on the rest of their day with no discomfort.

How long does it last?

Permanent makeup is long-lasting and will slowly fade over the course of 1-3 years depending on the individual’s skin type, lifestyle, and procedure.
To keep your makeup looking fresh, we recommend having it retouched every 1-2 years. Darker colors, such as black eyeliner, will last the longest. Natural, delicate colors are more vulnerable to the effects of sun, swimming and your skin’s natural emollients.

What can I expect at my appointment?

If it’s your first visit, you’ll have a consultation with your technician first. She’ll get to know your lifestyle and personality, go over the procedure and options, and answer any questions. Your technician will draw in and define the areas to be colored and work with you on shape, thickness and color. Next, numbing cream will be applied to your eyebrows. You’ll then lie back and let your technician do her magic! When you’re done you’ll receive aftercare cream and a review of instructions before heading out the door with your new, fabulous look.

What should I prepare before the appointment？

What are the aftercare procedures?

1. Apply a thin layer of repair cream for 2-3 days. Morning and night two times per day.
2. Don't touch water on your eyebrows within 24 hours, swim or take a sauna. After 24 hours, you can wash your face with facial cleanser.
3. Don't eat spicy food or seafood for two days.
4. Don’t get intensive sunlight a week. Get physical sun protection when go out.
5. After a week, eyebrow can be put on makeup, but products containing whitening ingredients should not be used on eyebrow to prevent eyebrow discoloration;
6. During the recovery period, do not use hands to grasp and buckle the eyebrow;
7. From the third day on the use of wet cotton massage on the eyebrows to help off the scab, morning and evening. The scab is best exfoliated within a week.

What if I have a previous eyebrow tattoo?

Option 1. 
If your previous eyebrow tattoo is light/faded, we can do color correction for you.

Option 2. 
If your previous eyebrow tattoo is dark, we can not change/make the shape completely disappear. It is recommended to get Laser Removal first.

Who should avoid getting permanent makeup?

1. Pregnant women.
2. Anyone with contagious blood diseases like Hepatitis or HIV.
3. People who are currently undergoing chemotherapy.
4. Those who have keloid or hypopigmentation.
5. Roaccutane and steroid users.
6. Diabetics.
